Springfield, Ohio Swap Meet

Being from Michigan, when I see someone wearing an Ohio State logo, I typically give them a hard time. However, being in Ohio this weekend, I had to bite my tongue! And they did play Saturday afternoon, winning in overtime! That may have contributed to the quick decline in attendance at the swap meet late Saturday afternoon. With the weather being amazingly warm for mid-November, thousands of people came out to Springfield to find the proverbial "needle in the haystack". There was also a car show and plenty of 'cars for sale'. This was the third and final swap meet of the season hosted by http://www.ohioswapmeet.com/. According to the show organizers, the spring swap meet is incredible! Take a moment to check out their website and put the 2010 dates on your calendar!

The sun was shining during the Let's Talk Cars car show in High Point, NC! The event included many unique classics, with great stories!

Click on the video to view this gorgeous '59 Porsche 356 1600! The paint job, two tone interior and detailing makes this classic my favorite during the High Point event!

This is a video clip of a 1956 Oldsmobile 98 Convertible! This is a stylish restoration with shinning chrome and two tone paint with the white wall tires really complete the character of this classic!

We did it!! On November 4th, 2009, the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) Pollution Control Board passed the revised ruling of the Antique Vehicle Definition for the motor vehicle inspection and maintenance program in Lake and Porter Counties of Indiana (326 IAC 13-1.1 -1). With the amazing efforts of the Auto Clubs Council of Indiana (ACCI), Hagerty Insurance Agency, and SEMA, we were able to sit down with the IDEM and help them 'define' an antique vehicle.
Whew!!! Let me put that in words that I would understand: On November 4th, 2009, the collector car hobby and antique vehicles are no longer subject to emmissions testing in Lake and Porter Counties if they have: A) Collector Car Insurance or B) the vehicle has been driven a maximum of three thousand miles per calendar year and has Federally required pollution control equipment in place. The easiest thing to do is to get Collector Car Insurance!! I know just the place: http://www.hagerty.com/ Wouldn't you want to be insured by a company that cares about the hobby and protecting enthusiasts rights?
Hat's off to the ACCI http://www.acc-indiana.org/ for spearheading this movement and taking the time to make sure there's a future for this hobby!
You may ask yourself: Why do I care about this? I'm not in Lake or Porter Counties? Here's my response: It's only a matter of time until emmissions testing is expanded to a county near you. Get on board and help curb these issues BEFORE they are issues. What can you do to help? Join the ACCI, join SEMA, insure your collector car(s) with Hagerty. These are all entities that give back to the hobby and who genuinely care about your rights as a collector car owner!

8th Annual Hilton Head Island Concours d'Elegance & Motoring Festival

The warmth southern hospitality was on display during the 8th Annual Hilton Head Island Concours d'Elegance (www.hhiconcours.com)!

The event displayed four wonderful events including the Savannah/Hilton Head Speed Classic, Motoring Midway, Car Club Jamboree and the Concours d'Elegance. There was always something to admire during this four day event!

It was amazing listening to the stories behind each vintage vehicle. The gentleman in the photograph told the story of how he purchased his 1930 Essex, 53 years ago for $45 dollars! The original price for the 1930 Essex was approximately $685. The event had a relaxing atmosphere and enthusiasts were encouraged to interact with both the owners and vintage vehicles.

This is a 1972 Ferrari Dino 246 Spyder! This is the only 246 Dino Spyder with a fuel injected engine.

This is a beautiful 1931 Mercer Convertible Roadster, and was the only car completed by Mercer Company for 1931. The Factory guaranteed 100 mph for it's 140 hp engine! Only 150 miles on the engine!

This is a remarkable 1920 Stutz H. This classic accommondated 6-7 passengers, and had a sticker price of $3,500!

The 8th Annual Hilton Head Island Concours d'Elegance & Motoring Festival also hosts other exhibits including several beautiful classic wooden Chris Crafts, Test and Drive from BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Infiniti and Jaguar and the ultra sleek Infiniti Essence concept vehicle. The event attracted thousands of car enthusiast to Hilton Head Island, and it was exciting to see all the enthusiasts enjoying show.

Tons of vendors poured into the Kentucky Fair and Expo Center for the two day event. While attendance may have seemed low, enthusiasts were still out and about looking for that special part for their project. With a Collector Car Auction held all day Saturday, one was bound to find the car of their dreams....and for a great price! After putting on the thermal underwear and packing the stocking cap and gloves, I headed out the door at 5:30 am Saturday to attend the 4th Annual Rock and Roll Car Show in Greenwood, Indiana. One may have wondered who was crazy enough to attend a car show when it was going to be a high of 45.......well, turns out no one was crazy, they're just extremely passionate about the hobby! Thousands of people poured into the Gathering Place in Greenwood to support the show. Almost 400 classic cars were in attendance with everything from a 65 Honda S-600 Convertible (very rare) to a late model Lamborhini. Garry Gilbert, who hosts the show in memory of his father and to raise money for Riley Children's Hospital, put his heart and soul into the show and you could certainly tell. From the amazing turnout of cars, the awesome food, great vendors, jamming music, and the COLTS CHEERLEADERS, one could tell a lot of planning went into this show! The 2009 EURO Auto Festival was filled with the excitement of European vintage of excellence!

The EURO Auto Festival (http://www.euroautofestival.com/) was held at the gorgeous BMW Zentrum in Greer, SC. The featured marque for 2009 was the Morgan, which is celebrating its 100th year anniversary! The wooden bodied classic was lining the field, and stole the show.

The show also honored the 50th year anniversary of the Mini and 20th year anniversary of the BMW 8 Series. Other vintage models attracted to the show included the Austin Healey, MG, Triumph, Mercedes Benz, Rolls Royce, Volvo, Porsche, Jaguar, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Land Rover, Opel and more!

The charity of choice is the Disaster Relief Fund of the American Red Cross (http://www.redcross.org/), which all proceeds will be donated from the show.

The 2009 EURO Auto Festival host many beautiful vintage cars, but this '33 Morgan Supersport Trike was one of my favorite! The '33 has a 1100cc twin, and three speed with reverse. The total weight is over 700 lbs!

Click on the video to view this '36 Riley Kestrel! This aluminum body classic has original leather seats, and has a top speed of 80 mph. The Riley documentation promises that the engine will use no more than 1 gallon of oil per 1,000 miles.

That pesky recession! Who does it think it is, coming over here, taking our jobs, hitting everyone in the pocket, grabbing all the headlines, making the lives of us Brits a misery? The best way for Britain to cope with the dire straits that is the recession, is to put on a brave face. Britain may not be the best in the world at many things these days, but one thing we are good at is having a laugh in the face of adversity.The latest news that one of the world’s largest car manufacturers, Honda, are to stop production at their British factory in Swindon for the next four months, affecting 75 per cent of Honda’s 4,000 strong British factory workforce.
Honda’s global third quarter net profit has dropped by a staggering 89 per cent, and even though Business Secretary Lord Mandelson announced a government support package for the UK car industry which could be up to 2.3 billion pounds, the Japanese car giant has had to go ahead with the longest factory shutdown in recent history.
Many car manufacturers have had to make cut-backs in production simply because demand for brand new cars during these difficult financial times is way below levels of supply - Honda dealers have not experienced such a slowdown in turnover that something just had to give and it makes perfect business sense to cut production, sit back and reflect on how the next quarter pans out.
Despite Honda stating that they jobs are safe, it is common knowledge that over a quarter of factory staff have taken up voluntary redundancy, perhaps as they see no end to the gloom and doom in the near future.
Fears that the halt in production in Swindon may continue past the next four months have been dispelled, or at least there lies some hope, as Honda are going ahead with part orders - a measure that they surely would not take if they felt that production would continue to stop for an even longer time period.
Honda usually produce 240,000 cars from their Swindon factory, but that figure will halve over the course of the next year and elsewhere, global production will be slashed by 56,000 units. Honda is yet to announce whether employees from their other business sectors and departments in the U, such as Honda dealers and administration staff will be affected during the next year, which finance experts are saying will continue in recession, possibly through to 2010.
Honda dealers have obviously experienced a slowdown in business, both in the sale of brand new vehicles - the bread and butter, where the highest margins are made - and also used cars from Honda dealers.
Figures are set to continue to decrease for the duration of 2009 as Honda economists have forecast a net profit for the year to March 2009 to be less than half of its earlier forecast of 185 billion yen. The company’s net profit for the quarter ending December 2008 was 180 billion yen below the mark reached during the same quarter the previous year - a staggering example of just how badly affected the car industry has been since the global economy took a nosedive.
The Swindon factory workforce will obviously be concerned, but will no doubt be putting on a brave face, in true British fashion. Let’s hope, like the global economy, their fortunes can change over the next year.

Next time you're travelling on U.S. Highway 36 and heading through the small town of Bainbridge, you need to stop by HRI Collector Car and check out the inventory! Don Wilson, the owner of HRI, has been in the hobby for over 45 years. He's seen so many neat vehicles, but one of the coolest has to be this 1916 Elgin. All I know is that I had never heard of this car before, and there's probably a good reason. Don states there are only a handful still in existence, and only 2 run. This is one of those 2. After transporting our latest foster dog to his new family (my wife and I are heavily involved in the Great Dane Rescue), I stopped to get gas. There’s a global boom going on in the motor vehicle field as increasing numbers of motorists convert their vehicles with hydrogen car kits.The system is often referred to as “running your car on water”.
It uses water to produce HHO (also known as Hydroxy or Brown Gas). It provides greatly increased fuel consumption, more power and improved performance. The end product is water so there is clear emission.
The kit works on gas or diesel powered cars, vans, trucks and SUVs. The conversion is safe, fast and easy to do. All that is needed is a conversion manual. The parts for the kit can be easily purchased for less than $100 at local hardware and auto stories.
The HHO system is easily reversible and does not void auto manufacturers’ warranties.
With new car sales currently at a low it is likely even more current vehicle owners will take advantage of the savings offered by the hydrogen conversion kit.
The new hydrogen powered cars produced by auto manufacturers are expensive. Critics says they are possibly dangerous because they store hydrogen in high pressure tanks. There is also the problem of getting hydrogen supplies at service stations and the possible polluting effects of manufacturing hydrogen.
The hydrogen car kits however provide hydrogen as the car needs it, rather than in storage tanks. The combustible gas is safe because it is extracted as needed and burned steadily from the water, unlike larger volumes of pure hydrogen which are highly flammable.
I’ve seen some service station operators offering to do the conversion for $1000 which I think is a bit steep when you consider you can do it yourself for less than $100, plus the cost of the instruction manual.
The instructions manuals can cost hundreds of dollars but I’ve been shopping around.
The very best deal I’ve seen for a Hydrogen Car Kit instruction manual is a special sales price of only $67 which has got be the cheapest on the Net.
Believe it or not it comes in 24 languages, with a money back guarantee and various very useful extras. The company even provides tax forms for you to claim government rebate for running a green car.
But it’s not just the cool instruction manual price. Also their system is more powerful than most and they provide good long term back-up support.
I believe this whole current conversion scene is all part of global automotive history. It’s ironic that while giant car companies are almost collapsing because they have done little to keep pace with the times, ordinary people using a few dollars and some initiative are leaving them standing. So if you want to save like 50 per cent on fuel costs, boost your vehicle performance, reduce vehicle emissions and help prevent global warming get a kit.
There is also another possibility. You could start a full or part-time business doing hydrogen car kit conversions yourself. I think the company concerned would probably be supportive of that.
Something to think about in these hard economic times. You would save heaps on your own fuel costs and make money installing the kits for other people.

Newport Hill Climb

With the fall weather kicking into high gear, one may wonder what kind of success a show might have. Well, the cold, windy weather didn't stop enthusiasts from coming to the Newport Hill Climb! Thousands of people flocked to Newport, Indiana to partake in the 100th annual Hill Climb. Saturday morning was extremely exciting as they re-created a photo from 1909, using an antique camera (I was able to get in the photo, so may have broke the camera!). Afterwards, it was time to grab a cup of coffee and try to stay warm. Watching the cars barrel up the hill was very unique and unlike any other car show I've attended. One person said to me "This is one of Indiana's best kept secrets." Not anymore! If you like cars and enjoy watching antiques test their power, you have to go to Newport during the Hill Climb! Last year, the Forester SUV was completely retooled, and it has sold briskly. For 2010, the long-running Outback gets its overhaul, and it's a doozy.

The Outback has gone from a car-like station wagon to an SUV-like crossover, just like that. It's bigger in nearly every exterior and interior dimension, which resolves the issues past owners had with interior space and gives it a much more comfortable ride. It may not be as fun to drive as before, but it's a better family vehicle that still exudes ruggedness and foul-weather capability.

At first glance, the 2010 Outback — with its beefy dimensions, large grille and sharp-edged design — looks nothing like the previous model.

Sixteen-inch wheels are standard on the base 2.5i, with 17-inch alloys becoming standard on all other trim levels.

The layout of the dash has changed quite a bit, with the clock and trip computer raised to the top of the dash. They're still easy to read in direct sunlight. Below them rests a new stereo unit or optional navigation system. There are also convenient cubbies for cell phones, CDs or other items.

Overall, the materials are a step up from the previous model and stand up to most of the competition, but they still lag behind the relatively upscale Toyota Venza.

The most extreme alteration for the 2010 models is the interior's overall spaciousness. Anyone who sat in the old model knows it can be cramped, especially in the backseat. Subaru stretched the wheelbase of the 2010, adding nearly 4 inches of rear legroom.

Located only about 15 minutes away from each other, James Dean Days in Fairmount, IN, and the Duck Tail Run in Gas City, IN, might very well be the largest street rod gathering in Indiana for September! There's a lot of ground to cover and I found myself getting stopped by every other car, admiring the beauty.

The Darlington Raceway (www.darlingtonraceway.com) host the 2nd Annual Darlington Historic Racing Festival! Racing participants gathered together from 23 States and Canada to experience the track "Too Tough to Tame!" The vintage racers consist of Historic cars, Indy Roadsters, Stock, Modified and Midgets.

Click on the video to view the "Moment in Time" display. Each display of vintage racers had a description explaining the history of the car and driver. This was an amazing display of historic vehicles.

Check out this 1927 Hudson open-wheel racer! This is a gorgeous racer with a brass gas pump and original wooden steering wheel.

This exciting event was interactive for all enthusiasts! Owners of these historic vehicles encouraged spectators to ask questions of the history each vehicle.

The "Legends Pavilion" host question and answer sessions among the racing fans and "Legends of Racing." The racing legends included South Carolina natives Cale Yarborough and David Pearson, Ned Jarrett, Junior Johnson, Marvin Panch and open-wheel legend Johnny Rutherford. Further, each legend was available for autograph sessions for fans.

Fiat Panda Mini receives subtle upgrades for the 2010 model year. On the outside, all 2010 model year Pandas adopt the more contemporary body colored grille found on the 4x2 and 4x4 Dynamic variants, new alloy wheel options, larger exterior mirrors and silver trim finish for the roof bars. Fiat has also added four new exterior colors to the lineup.

Inside, the instrument panel gets fresh graphics while there's also a new selection of upholstery colors.

Mechanical improvements are limited to the introduction of a new 69 horsepower 1.2-liter gasoline engine that emits 113g/km of CO2. In Europe, Panda buyers have a wide choice of gasoline, diesel, natural gas and LPG engines with outputs ranging from 54 to 100 horsepower.

Hyundai To Skip Tokyo Motor Show

Hyundai Motor Co. has decided not to participate in the Tokyo Motor Show next month, apparently as part of its cost reduction strategy, it has been learned.

Hyundai has already notified the organizer about its withdrawal from the auto show, which will start on Oct. 24 at the Makuhari Messe convention hall in Chiba, organizers said.

This year, the American "Big Three" and other major foreign automakers have also announced their absence from the event. With only two overseas companies -- German carmaker Alpina and British sports car manufacturer Lotus -- taking part in the upcoming show, organizers fear that it will lack excitement.

VW to Buy SsangYong Motor?

It appears Volkswagen isn’t busy enough with getting Porsche and being its sole owner. VW is now bent on taking over the South Korean automaker SsangYong Motor, which is operating under bankruptcy protection.

Months ago, SsangYong suffered a vicious strike when hundreds of workers decided to occupy a factory and shut down production entirely. Volkswagen has neither confirmed nor refuted the reports so far but it is believed that SAIC, the former SsangYong owner, collaborated with VW through the Shanghai VW joint venture.

To win the award, a vehicle must earn a “Good” rating, which is the highest, in all three of IIHS’ crash tests, which include frontal-offset, side-impact and rear crash tests. The vehicles also must have electronic stability control.

Stability control is optional in the Versa, so only models equipped with the option received the top rating. It’s standard on the LaCrosse.

BMW's X1 Crossover Arrives in the U.S. in late 2010

Starting late next year, BMW Group will launch three crossovers within months of one another in the United States.

In the United States, the X1 will be powered by a six-cylinder gasoline engine and will be available in both front- and all-wheel drive. The X1 is 175.2 inches long--slightly longer than the 1 series--and can carry up to five passengers.

The X1 will be followed in early 2011 by a Mini crossover that debuted as a concept at last year's Paris auto show. That vehicle has not yet been named.

Jaguar XJ Will Come Equipped With HD Radio

The new Jaguar XJ will come equipped with HD Radio, one of a growing list of models to get the stereo system choice.

The feature is popular because it offers lots of channels like satellite without a subscription fee. Bit by bit, iBiquity, the developer of HD Radio Technology for AM and FM, has been picking off mostly luxury-car makers. It says besides Jag, its list of automakers offering factory-installed HD Radio either standard or as an option now includes BMW, Hyundai, Mercedes and Volvo. It also includes a couple of youth-oriented brands which are bought by customers who demand really good sound systems, BMW's Mini and Toyota's Scion.

In addition to the new XJ, the Jaguar XKR sports car and XFR sports sedan will also have HD Radio, just like the XK and XF, which have it now.

Chrysler and Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne is preparing to present his so-called Five Year Plan to the company's board on Friday. Part of the plan is to revamp five current Chrysler models by 2011, including the Chrysler Town & Country, Dodge Grand Caravan, Dodge Caliber, Jeep Compass, and Jeep Patriot. Products currently in the pipeline include the new Chrysler 300 and Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Fiat 500 minicar will bow in the U.S. in 2011.

A facelift usually takes two to three years to complete, but Marchionne is set on having the projects done within 18 months. To hurry the redesigns, engineers and designers are expected to put in as much overtime as needed to complete the task on schedule.

Driving into the movie venue with your classic car created “drive-in movie style” atmosphere, which was exciting for car enthusiast. The crowd was entering the venue with a view of a large movie screen with classic cars parked to enjoy the movie!

Mainstream debuts
Among the mainstream debuts, which totalled 82 world premieres on the first day, this year have been the brand new Vauxhall Astra, Ford's second generation C-Max, Kia's latest Ceed and all-new B-segment Venga. Mini also unveiled its Coupe Convertible and Raodster concepts which it confirmed will go into production at its plant in Cowley, Oxfordshire.

This year's main emphasis, however, has been on new generation electric and hybrid vehicles.

Electric warriors
Amost every manufacturer unveiled an electric car, from the intriguing Peugeot BB1 and Citroën REVOLTe, to the sporty Audi e-tron, while Renault promised that all four of its zero emission concepts were "in the production pipeline."

If they weren't unveiling electric cars, companies were unveiling hybrids or green sub-brands such as Kia's EcoDynamics - the name which will be applied to the most eco-friendly cars within each Kia model range, all around the world.

With so many cars announced before the show, there were few major surprises. Audi just about managed to keep the lid on the e-tron.

Audi says the e-tron is a clear indication that it will develop an electric car and it's likely to be a sports car. VW's L1 was also closely guarded and highly radical.

Nissan North America, Inc. has announced pricing for the 2010 Nissan Rogue Crossover SUV, which is on sale at Nissan retailers nationwide. The 2010 Nissan Rogue is offered in four high-mileage models, each equipped with a standard 170-horsepower 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine, Nissan's advanced Xtronic Continuously Variable Transmission, Vehicle Dynamic Control, 4-wheel disc brakes with anti-lock braking system and six air bags.

The manufacturer's suggested retail prices (MSRP) are $20,340 for the S four-wheel drive model, $21,930 for the SL four-wheel drive model, $21,540 for the Rogue S all-wheel drive, and $23,130 for the SL all-wheel drive.

For 2010, Rogue S models are available with a new 360 Value Package that includes 16-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, privacy glass, integrated rearview mirror-rearview monitor, auto-dimming rearview mirror, rear spoiler and chrome grille. The 360 Value Package is priced at $1,040, a $1,000 savings compared to purchasing items separately.

Mazda B-Series, Like the Ford Ranger.

Since the Mazda merged with the Ford Ranger platform in 1994, the B-Series has steadily declined in both sales and public interest as the compact truck coped with threats to its segment. As the 1990s roared on and the full-size truck segment emerged as a hot area for automakers, small trucks became increasingly marginalized as Ford, GM, and Dodge offered larger variations with room for the whole family, for not much more money. Mazda said it would begin selling its redesigned 2 hatchback in the US and Canada by the end of 2010, the latest of several European and Japanese subcompacts finally taking a stake in the American market.

The Mazda 2, based off the Ford Fiesta which is also coming to the US next year as a 2011 model, has been on sale in Europe since 2007 (and has a longer history in Japan, where it's known as the Demio). The latest version, which debuted next to the Fiesta 3- and 5-door models at the 2008 Geneva Auto Show, offers a choice of 1.3 and 1.5 liter four-cylinder engines, plus a 1.4 liter turbodiesel. We'll see the US version at the 2009 Los Angeles Auto Show in December, and expect the US to get the 1.5 liter, which is good for 102 horsepower.

Small cars have typically bombed with the American public during long waves of cheaper gas prices, but the market is growing fast.

After many leaked images and speculations, we now have the real deal. Hyundai has officially unwrapped the all new 2011 Sonata in its home country.

True to previous images we've seen, the new Sonata features styling that features plenty of four-door-coupe-style styling touches, which should distinguish it from more conventional sedans. With what Hyundai refers to as "fluidic sculpture" styling, the car is immediately more eye-catching than its predecessor, and the new Sonata is said to extend that appeal to the interior with the use of premium materials. Hyundai hopes the upmarket changes will make the Sonata a strong competitor in the mid-size sedan class against segment leaders Honda Accord and Toyota Camry, as well as further a shift in brand image started by the full-size Genesis sedan, introduced last year.

Charlotte Food Lion AutoFair: Fall Show

The Charlotte AutoFair: Fall Show had another great turn out with thousands of collector cars, over 30 car club participating, live classic car auction, car show and hundreds of vendors! The three day show was host by the Hornets Nest Region AACA (www.charlotte-autofair.com) at Lowes Motor Speedway.

Thousands of classic car enthusiasts were eager to catch a glimpse of their favorite classic or find the specific part to complete their ongoing restoration.

The venue at Lowes Motor Speedway was filled with classic car clubs and more, which extended behind the grandstand! Amazing!

Check out these sweet Ratrods produced by ManMade Legends in Cornelius, NC. This is a steel body produced Ratrod! This was one vendor of many at the Charlotte AutoFair.

The Hagerty Booth was accompanied by Bobby Allison's #2 car, which was donated by Memory Lane Museum (www.memorylaneautomuseum.com) located in Mooresville, NC. Mr. Bobby Allison was present to sign autographs for enthusiast walking through the show. The legend, Mr. Junior Johnson was also at the venue to sign autographs for spectators. It was amazing to have these two racing icons present to show fan support for this great event!

The Charlotte AutoFair had another successful showing of vendor, club and enthusiast support! Congratulations to the Hornets Nest Region AACA for having a great event!

ACD Festival

After not being able to upload photos to my blog, I started thinking, "Hey, someone might actually be interested in reading about the event." Then I laughed and pushed it off for another day. Well, my computer still doesn't want to cooperate, so what you get is a written description of the ACD Festival.
Thursday was the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum's Extravaganza Fundraiser. Hagerty was a sponsor of the event. It was a black-tie affair and a magnificent show! Clive Cussler was present, auctioning off the opportunity to be a character in his next book. The lucky winner took home the honors for $23k. Another great highlight of the evening was a 1930 Duesenberg Model J went for $3,000,000!! Wow!
The Kruse Auction was the Kruse Auction. As Forrest Gump puts it, "That's all I have to say about that."
Saturday was the Worldwide Auction which started at 6:00pm. I have to mention, Worldwide puts on an extremely classy auction. Everything ran very smooth and was well coordinated. They truly are the next big name in the Auction world! Around 85 cars went across the block, including a 1936 Delehaye 135 Competition Top was bid up to $3,050,000 but unfortunately didn't sell. Signs of the economy showed at the auction, with a low percentage of the vehicles meeting their reserves. With how well Worldwide is ran, I'm confident they were able to negotiate deals after the hammer dropped.
Saturday was also a great show in the park of Auburn. Auburns, Cords, and Duesenbergs were on display, separated based on make. After touring around the park for a while, admiring the beauty, I ran into a group of Young Hagerty Judges. It was so great to see kids getting involved in the hobby, going through the cars with a fine-tooth comb, judging them. This past weekend was filled with festival activities with plenty of classics stealing the spot light! On Monday, I saw this sleek '39 Zephyr Custom at the Matthews Festival! This is a gorgeous custom with chrome rotors to provide extra flare! Take a look!

On Saturday, at the Downtown Mooresville Cruise-In you couldn't have missed this Super Bee Six Pack Mopar with an automatic on the floor!
